How to change Siri voice in IOS 14.5

Siri has many features and it is increasingly getting smarter with each update. It has a voice that will talk to you and by default it comes with an American English speaker’s voice. If you get tired of hearing Siri’s default voice, you are in luck because with iOS 14.5 you can change Siri voice to anything you want. There is a wide variety of voices to choose from like a British voice, Australian voice, Indian voice etc.

Apple has been leading the phone industry for a while now. It has become a symbol for people, a symbol of reliability and because our lives are deeply connected with our phones reliability is of extreme importance. Every year they come out with a new iteration of the phone and it is surprisingly better than the previous year’s phone. They change the design and also keep adding more software features so that they can compete with its rival Android.

In recent years AI has been the centre of focus for all tech companies, now a days every phone has an assistant that can help you do various tasks. Its like you don’t even need to be rich or famous to have an assistant because everyone has it on their phones. Apple and Android both have built in assistants to help you with your daily tasks, you can ask them literally anything and they will have an answer for you. They are getting smarter by the day, so Siri is the AI assistant of Apple and Android has an assistant called Google Assistant.

It might seem like its not a big feature but you do get tired of hearing the same voice after a while so having the option to change Siri voice to female is amazing. It adds a little more customization to your hands, so if you have been wanting to switch it up, here is how you change Siri’s voice with iOS 14.5:

Check for updates:

First thing that I will suggest you do is that check if your phone has been updated to iOS 14.5, normally  as soon as Apple releases the update almost everyone’s iPhone updates it on its own but if due to any reason it has not been updated go to Settings -> General -> About and check the current version you have installed, if its under 14.5 then click Software Update to update you phone. The download usually takes a while because it is a big file so make sure your phone has enough battery to complete the process or better yet plug your phone in to power for the update. After it has been downloaded click on install and your phone will start the process and upon completion the phone will restart itself.

Preview different Siri voices:

When your phone is properly updated to iOS version 14.5 go to Settings -> Siri & Search -> and then click on Siri Voice which will take you to another page where you will see different voice options listed. Now you will only have the default voice downloaded on your phone so to preview other voices you will need to download them first. So make sure you have enough space in your phone to download these new voices. Turn up the volume to the max to listen to the different options before you, so tap on each voice to see which one you like the best.

When you tap on the voice button it might take a second for it to play because iPhone will first download the data for that voice before playing it for you. Now change Siri voice to anything you want from that selection.
Once you decide on the voice you want, simply tap on it and you are all set. The Settings menu will save your selection and change Siri’s voice in the entire phone. It is also worth noting that if you buy a new iPhone or an iPad with iOS 14.5 already installed, when you attempt to setup the device for the first time iOS will prompt you for the assistant’s voice and there you can choose the one you want. Apple has been adding more voices to iOS every year and you can expect to have many more options in the coming months.
